  1. Nick Heidfeld a été officialisé chez Mercedes GP en tant que pilote d'essais.
  2. Il se murmure que le line-up pilotes du team américain USF1 devrait être composé de Juan-Maria Lopez et d'Adrian Valles.
  3. Mercedes GP a encore beaucoup d'améliorations à apporter à la monoplace avant de prétendre à la victoire. Ross Brawn est revenu sur les débuts de la MGP W01 sur la BBC: "Avec le plein, on n'est pas trop mal même si on est un peu lents. (Il y a des problèmes sur) l'équilibre de la voiture qui l'on peut régler pour Jerez. On sait d'où ça vient. Bien sûr, les autres équipes vont progresser aussi. On casse pas mal d'échappements et on doit les changer tous les 150 à 200km. C'est quelque chose que l'on peut régler mais c'est difficile. Le manque d'équilibre vient aussi du fait que les pneus sont nouveaux."
  4. Michael Schumacher a revu ses prétentions à la baisse après les essais à Valencia. Selon lui, la victoire ne sera pas possible lors des tous premiers GP. Nico Rosberg se veut plus confiant. Le jeune allemand a déclaré dans les colonnes de "Bild" que la Mercedes serait en haut de l'affiche à Jerez. A vérifier dès mercredi...
  5. Campos GP avait trouvé un accord avec Dallara pour sauver son écurie mais il a été annulé. Zoran Stefanovich devrait racheter l'équipe espagnole pour qu'elle devienne Stefan GP. Les voitures seront des ex-Toyota et le line-up devrait compter Kazuki Nakajima et Ralf Schumacher. L'homme d'affaires serbe aurait le soutien de Bernie Ecclestone. De ce fait, Bruno Senna pourrait perdre son baquet.
  6. Le gouvernement britannique menace de fermer l'usine Force India à Silverstone. Vijay Mallya a jusqu'au 25 février pour présenter les factures de 2008 sous peine de devoir faire ses adieux à la F1.
  7. Mercredi, Timo Glock a testé la VR-01 à Silverstone.
  8. Virgin a passé les derniers crash-tests jeudi.
  9. Mark Webber ouvrira la semaine de tests à Jerez pour Red Bull (le 10 et le 11) et Sebastian Vettel prendra le relais (le 12 et le 13).
  10. Ce week-end, Nelson Piquet Jr est en Floride où il dispute sa toute première course en Nascar. Le pilote Eddie Sharp Racing s'est classé septième lors des essais libres jeudi. Pour information, 53 voitures sont en compétition. Félicitations champion!

"On full tanks we didn't look too bad but we're a little bit off the pace and there are problems with the handling and balance of the car which we can fix for Jerez; we know what the problem is. Of course the other teams will be progressing as well. We are not as quick as Ferrari, and Lewis Hamilton looked quick on Tuesday, so it looks like we've got a bit of work to do. We are cracking exhausts and are having to change those every 150-200km. It's a problem we can fix but here it's difficult. We've got a handling imbalance because we are all learning about these tyres here and we've seen straight away some things we want done on the tyres which we'll have done by Jerez." Ross Brawn said to BBC.
  4. Michael Schumacher thinks that the victory won't be possible in the beginning of the season. Nico Rosberg is more confident than his team-mate. He declared on "Bild" that the MGP W01 will be on the top in Jerez. To check from wednesday...
