L'écurie a donné sa chance en Formule 1 au pilote allemand, elle lui a permis de marquer ses premiers points, de mettre les pieds sur ses premiers podiums. C'est sans doute pour cela que Nico lui est si fidèle. Cette fidélité peut paraître déconcertante vu le développement insuffisant de la Williams (disons plutôt un développement qui prend fin trop tôt dans la saison) mais elle s'explique par une qualité rare dans le monde de la F1, et que Nico a : la loyauté. Son but est de gagner avec Williams, d'aller au bout de son rêve avec eux et c'est pour cela qu'il y croit depuis trois ans. Mais voilà, il n'est ni dupe ni naïf. Il sait, après trois ans, que Williams a des difficultés à rivaliser avec les meilleurs et il est conscient qu'en 2oo9, si ça ne va pas mieux, il devra prendre une décision difficile mais nécessaire s'il veut devenir champion du monde. Il s'est exprimé récemment sur ce sujet: "Si Williams n'est pas dans le coup l'année prochaine, il me faudra aller voir ailleurs. Je me dois de penser à ma carrière. J'ai d'autres options, mais si j'attends trop longtemps, les portes vont se refermer." Choisir entre son écurie de coeur et son destin ne sera pas une chose facile, mais Nico saura faire les bons choix.

Such a beautiful story deserved an article. Nico and Williams, it's a big adventure! The team gave Nico the chance to be in formula one, and thanks to it the german pilot was abble to score his first points and to be on his first podiums. It's probably the reasons why Nico is so faithful. This fidelity may be disconcerting because the car has a bad development during the season (a development that ends too early in the season) but we can explain it by a quality that is quite exceptional, but that Nico has: loyalty. His goal is to win with Williams, to live his dream with it and that's why he believes in it since three years. But well, he is not fooled or credulous. He knows that Williams has difficulties to fight with the best teams and he is aware that in 2009, if things aren't better, he will have to take a difficult but necessary decision if he wants to win the world championship one day. He talked about that in a recent interview: "If Williams are still not there, then I will have to think about somewhere else. I have to think of my own career. There are other options for me, but if I wait for too long, those doors obviously close." To choose between his heart team and his destiny won't be an easy thing, but Nico will take the good decision.
