According to Swiss magazine "motorsport aktuell" magazine, Lucas di Grassi will cover testings to Jerez with Renault (17-19/09/08). We say even that Brazilian driver could get back Nelsinho Piquet's seat in 2009. The young man wasn't still confirmed for the next season...

Nelsinho vs Neslinho : Who is he really ?

After thirteen GP, this driver's image remained negative. Why ? One disastrous beginning and he shows himself to Magny-Cours. The young Brazilian signs a great race to Silverstone but adversity intervenes. In Germany, he offers podium to his team. Fernando Alonso's team-mate showed himself under his real nature : a pure talent. British F3 saw being born a future champion. In 2005, he's draft but succeeds to taking down victory in Spa (GP2). In 2006, Nelsinho wins in maturity and seems to possess a rare sky's gift. In Budapest, he wins two sleeves on a diluted track. He's a magician, a tightrope walker who has just appeared to motorsport's world. What did it happen ? Why did paddock forget who was Nelsinho Piquet ? His results aren't really satisfactory even if a net improvement is to note. He remains still very fragile in qualifying. His abandonment to Spa won't plead in his favour. He had opted for a daring strategy (tires "hard" and charged in gasoline). His car was thus difficult to pilot (lack of grip). But Renault won't maybe forgive him this new indistinctness...

Nelsinho suffers from an evident lack of confidence... In F1, it's translated by the exclusion !... He presents the same syndrome as Kimi Räikkönen : blasé, unpleasant, and little invested... These ideas are false. They're serious, applied, perfectionists, anxious and introvert. It's true that the child of Brasilia's quotes concerning his performances are flat. He never questions. We don't feel real conviction in his comments. There is an impression "to copy to stick", of already heard... "I am disappointed. I am more going to work to make better for the next GP" : this is eternal Renault driver's tune. It becomes boring.

Maybe he grants no interest to public opinion... It doesn't much matter whether he's paddock's scrunchie or not, Nelsinho has to face his superego to keep his steering wheel. His talent is real, doubt is inconceivable !

All behind Nelsinho, F1 needs its genius !
