Let us return together on this first day of testing to Monza. Ten teams prepare the next two European sleeves. Felipe Massa signs the best time in front of Heikki Kovalainen and Nico Rosberg. We'll also make a point on the news.

Remarks :
- Felipe Massa tested the new aero package foreseen for Monza. The top 3 is completed by Heikki Kovalainen and Nico Rosberg.
- Sebastian Vettel is the fourth.
- Rubens Barrichello is classified fifth.
- Mark Webber occupies the sixth rank.
- Nick Heidfeld is seventh in front of Tonio Liuzzi. BMW driver concentrated on mechanical set-up for Spa and Monza. He tested suspensions, aero and gearbox.
- Jarno Trulli is ninth.
- Nelsinho Piquet is the good last one.
- According to the Irish site "ManipeF1.com", Nico Rosberg signed the best time of the morning (1'23"461). German outstripped Heikki Kovalainen and Felipe Massa.
To note:
- On Sunday, Sebastien Bourdais will be in demonstration with Toro Rosso in the streets of Paris. This Roadshow aims at promoting Grand Prix of France 2009. He’ll go to the Place of Concorde and Trocadero… Meeting at 11:50 am for the beginning of the animation...
- Sebastien Buemi and Takuma Sato will be in tests with Toro Rosso in September. They could reach a wheel in 2009.
- "BP" could sponsor McLaren.
- Valencia could become the GP of the Mediterranean Sea in 2009. Nürbürgring would take back the title of European sleeve.
- According to the rumours, Robert Kubiça would have prolonged his contract with BMW for 2009.
