To note :
- Sebastian Vettel signed the best time in this first day of testing to Jerez (1'19"844). Toro Rosso driver worked on the season 2008 and 2009.
- Gary Paffett is second in front of Luca Badoer's Ferrari. Italian driver concentrated on the evaluation of tires slick which will be reintroduced in 2009.
- Nico Hülkenberg is the fourth on Williams FW30. He provoked the excitement of the only red flag of this Tuesday.
- Sebastien Buemi occupies the fifth rank. He's followed by Renault third driver, Romain Grosjean.
- Jarno Trulli is seventh. Let us note that Timo Glock will be in track on Thursday.
- Alex Wurz and Christian Klien close the walking. BMW met a severe problem with the KERS (a mechanic received an electric shock by wanting to install it on F1.08). The German-Swiss team decided to abandon the testing of this system.
