F1 in the streets of London ? Bernie Ecclestone would like to replace Silverstone by an urban track in London. The project would have been able to become a reality thanks to the ex-mayor, Ken Livingstone. It's that he confided last November " the Mayor of the city, Ken Livingstone, helped us and presented a plan(shot). If this project had been pursued, there was not more than a question of the financing." But the English government didn't wish to validate it... May 2nd, 2008, Londoners elected a new representative, Boris Johnson. "Mr E." hopes that this last one will know how to bring to a successful conclusion this idea. Silverstone underwent some metamorphoses and elaborated a modernization plan to meet the expectations of the FOM. Will it be enough for prolonging the contract ? Nothing is less sure !... If the project of London cannot be concretized, it seems more likely that F1 is allowed seduce by new parts of the country... To follow !...

To note :

  1. Fernando Alonso received the prize 2008 Dialogo from the French-Spanish friendship yesterday.
  2. Anthony Davidson hopes that he can find a steering wheel in F1...
